Report

Andrew had the minibus up for the day because he was taking people board skiing the next day. Mr. Orr was also only up for the day.

We went into a coire on the north side of the mountain for some ice axe practice and then ascended the right-hand shoulder of the coire, This proved tricky with hard slippy snow which really required ice axes. Gordon and Alistair seemed to revel in taking the most difficult ways they could find. Alan Penman had the most problems and Glip gave him one of his crampons to help.

We lunched at the summit and tried unsuccessfully to punish Gordon for hurting Andrew Allan with a snowball.

Geoff Orr checked the descent to the Am Binnein saddle since nobody wanted to returnt he way we had come. This was OK and we sledged the last bit to the saddle although it was still very hard snow.

Nobody wanted to climb An Binnein, so we descended/sledged into the glen to the west. Near the bottom, we spent an hour or so making snow holes (or in A.Yarr's case -a toilet).

Those returning to Greenock did so. The rest stayed at the Crianlaricj Youth Hostel overnight.
