Leader: Glip
Scouts: Robbie Mochrie and Robert Wright
Weather: Warm with south easterly wind. Cloudy with cloud level varying between 1000-2500 feet
Report (written by Robbie Mochrie)
We arrived at the foot of the mountain at 9:50 AM and piled out of Percy. The first part of the climb was through bracken. At about 600 feet, we ere clear of the bracken and quickly travelled up the valley taking us to 1500 feet. We then followed a burn to the saddle between Beinn Ime and Bein Narnain. We stopped here for a rest and also to take a bearing on the summit in case the clouds descended, which they did as soon as the bearing was taken.
Slowly, we ascended through the clouds. Robert found a frog sheltering under a rock. This creature he tried to stick down my neck– without success. About 50 yards from the summit, Glip’s sixth sense told him that we were about to fall over some cliffs. We changed our bearing for 100 paces, then returned to the original bearing and soon reached the summit, where we lunched and were discovered by an equally mad walker from Bolton. We went down the mountain by a track which we had missed on the way up. For some reason, the sky cleared of clouds. In sunlight and good spirits, we arrived at the Percymobile where we toasted the hill and went home.
