Report
We left headquarters in cars at 9:40 AM and arrived in Lanark within two hours, although Percy tried his best to go to Stirling and Edinburgh. The cars were left in a small car park at grid reference 964374. Since the rain was pelting down, we delayed our start until it stopped (1240). We then started up the path marked on the map going in a southerly direction past the old Roman fort. At Maurices Cleuch, Which was impressive, the snow started and the wind strengthened. We all managed to reach the top through blizzard-like conditions, had a quick cuppa, then retreated back down the path with Rivet and Raljex experimenting with a Karrimor bag as a sledge.
David Eadie, Andrew Wilson, Graham Bolster and Colin Roach all qualified for the Ben Nevis stage of the Everest Challenge.
Note the date. It proves something or other but I’m not sure what.
