Report
This climb was carried out during the Easter camp at Fordell Firs. The hill is a few miles south west of Edinburgh. Humphrey, the geriatric minibus, drove us out to our starting point – a road near a Ministry of Defence firing range with warnings of unexploded bombs and things. The road alongside the forest was knee deep in mud and had to be avoided. The actual climb was not very eventful since the top was covered in mist and we couldn’t see anything. Apparently one can see Tinto, The Cobbler and Creuch Hill from the top on a good day. The only other thing of note was the finding of a Mars bar on the track.
We returned to the minibus at 5:15 PM and celebrated on Coca-Cola.
